Distribution Spotlight features leaders, innovators and other interesting people from the industry that share their own personal stories and experiences with you.

Since so many people in the industry spend so much time traveling in their vehicles or on planes, the Show was created as a podcast, so it can be listened to anywhere, anytime – even on the go.

About the Host

Distribution Spotlight is hosted by me, Allen Wix. My career started in the sanitary supply industry in 1999, when I joined Affiliated Paper Company (now AFFLINK), a distributor buying group.

Over the next 15 years, I worked to develop, launch and grow over a dozen private label programs in a variety of categories, including towel & tissue, can liners, cleaning chemicals, skin care and floor pads.

I left AFFLINK to start my own marketing company for small businesses in another industry. Despite all of the long hours and work required to start the business, I began missing the industry and all of the great people in it.

As I brainstormed ways to reengage in the industry, I knew I wanted to do something positive – and the Distribution Spotlight podcast was the result. I hope you enjoy the Show!

Brent Grover, Founder & Partner of Evergreen Consulting, LLC, is the guest on this episode of the Distribution Spotlight Show.

Brent talks about his work experiences both inside and outside his family’s multi-generational distribution business in Ohio. He also shares how he and his brother changed the company’s strategic direction and how that ultimately prompted an unsolicited purchase offer for the company.

He talks a bit about a couple of the nine books he has written (available on amazon.com and/or naw.org), that are best suited to help janitorial distributors improve their overall business health. He also shares other useful business advice and interesting stories, including how he helped secure emergency operating room equipment for a hospital in Peru when he was just 15.
